How To Use NI Massive

MassivePerformer

Native Instruments Massive is very versatile when it comes to envelope filters and modulation sources. One of my most overlooked features is performer, basically a sequencer that lets you do crazy time based things which can really spice up your electronic dreams. Here’s an example where I’ll craft a hi-hat type part and add it to a mellow loop I’m working on.

I’ll be using the performer as an amp modulator for both one oscillator and also the noise module. I’ll be exploring different shapes on the performer as well alternating between two xfade sequences and also selecting the buttons on the lower part of the sequencer. The result is a colorful and rhythmic spice that adds to the mystery of layered electronic music. Enjoy!
